I caught 1 little Red and LOTS of slot or bigger Trout. Bill also got in on the Trout action. South flats in 3-4' of water using white curly tails under a popping cork.

Sykes Creek w/Bill
We made our first motorized trip to Sykes Creek. These boats are great for this spot. You can motor between canal, docks or flats all from one launch. I hit up the little creek mouth in the canal that I had good luck with last year. I got 2 very small Reds and 2 small Trout. I then followed Bill into Sykes Crrek to try some docks, with nothing happening there for either of us. I moved over to the flats side of the creek and started to get into a schoolie Trout topwater bite. As I called Bill to join me, the Sheriff boat was cruising by and my yak still isn't registered. I decided to call it a day and avoid a ticket.

6/4 KARS Park w/Bill
Went KARS to fish and wait for the Falcon rocket test launch. Bill caught a few nice Trout and I got skunked. The rocket kept delaying, so I had to settle for watching from home @2:45pm.

5/19 M.I. Airport w/Bill
We had good weather and took the new yak out to play. I went south with Bill in tow and the fishing started slow. Eventually we found a school of Ladyfish with some Trout and Catfish mixed in. No topwater bite all day, popping cork and jig were all that worked.

Manatee Cove w/Ryen & Christopher
Launched out of Manatee Cove and motored north with Ryen & Christopher in tow. My new yak performed flawlessly, unfortunately my guiding skills were lacking. We found a flat that was exploding with mullet, but caught no fish. After drifting into deeper water I found some small trout and called the guys out to join me and Christopher caught a catfish. The wind had picked up and open water was rough, so I towed us back to the cove. Ryen caught a catfish inside the cove to get the skunk off.
Fishing wasn't great, but it was another great day on the water.

5/10 New yak Kiwanis Island
I bought a new(used) Native Ultimate 14.5 Volt. It has the most comfortable seat and a trolling motor. I took it out this evening with Bill and we both caught fish. There is a reason they call this Ultimate, because it is!!!

Hanger AF w/Bill - NMZ 3/20/2010
Finally back on the water!!!!!
A rare warm and not too windy day and if you found the fish they were HUNGRY!
I found the big Trout early(10am, 9:30 launch) and landed 3 all over 20", before giving them a break and moving on for Reds. It didn't take long to find the Reds and I landed 3, all over slot, by 1pm. The wind picked up and no after 1pm.
Bill fished around the islands and the bar near the ships (I went south). He never found the fish.
Another great day on the water.
