I knew it would be a good day, my camera wasn't working. I caught 3 trout and 3 snook. The last snook was the biggest so I called Bill over to take pictures. Bill caught several trout and ladyfish.
Weather was perfect and the NMZ was just reopened after launch. Should have been a banner day, but the fish didn't get the memo. It was Lew's first time kayak fishing on his new yak, he did great and caught one trout. My patch job on Bill's yak didn't hold and he almost sank. Still, another great day on the water!
Bill got a few trout, ladyfish and a kittyfish. I got a 2 reds and some small trout. Finally got a true summer day with no wind. Reds were in shallow and hit Exude slug.
It was windier than it was supposed to be as usual. Absolutely no action early, I got my only fish after 11am. The trout hit a bone spook jr and took off like a tarpon. I soon saw why, as a 40+" redfish followed him to my kayak wanting to eat him. I had to more redfish hit the same spook shortly after, but they both shook off.
