Dick let Bud borrow his kayak, thanks Dick.
We all caught trout, popping cork was the most effective.

IFA Kayak Tour Inaugural Tournament Titusville
With 3 New Hobie kayaks for prizes: Biggest Trout, Biggest Redfish and Aggregate of Redfish, Trout and Flounder, and only 12 anglers, I had was sure I could win atleast one. Unfortunately, I caught Snook, Tarpon and Ladyfish all day! I finally landed a 19.1" Trout on popping cork, something to enter. I moved to the port to try for Flounder and Redfish. I did pick up a 16.5" Redfish(needed to be 18" to enter), but no Flounder. I drove to Titusville for the check in and turned in my picture of the Trout. It turned out it was a tough day for everyone and my 19.1" Trout took 3rd Place Trout for $100(got my entry fee back). 2nd place trout was 19.2". One guy took top prize for all 3 categories by catching a 23"Trout and 24.5" Redfish and won all 3 kayaks!!!! He drove to Jacksonville to fish his home waters and drove back for check-in(legal). NO-one caught a Flounder. It was a long day, but fun. I can't believe I worked that hard all day and only got a Trout to check-in. Next time!

Barge Canal w/ Bill
I was trying to get a Tarpon to go with it, but couldn't land one.
Bill got a few trout also, sneaking in a last trip before heading to Branson.
I must have smelled bad, because I attracted a few vultures!

Sykes-Barge Canal w/Bill
The water was up at least a foot since last week and we were greeted by a 10' lizard floating in the middle of the canal. The bait run was definitely moving through the canal, but there weren't a lot of predators. Small trout were the only fish willing to take a topwater. The culverts didn't hold any fish, so I moved east to a little creek mouth. There I found a few larger trout, tiny Snook and small Tarpon, but wasn't having much luck hooking up. I finally managed to catch dinner, a nice Flounder. Weather was cooler and the rain held off, but not the stellar catching day I anticipated.

No Snookie today - Arthur Ave, Cape Canaveral
Not much bait early, but Dick saw me coming up empty and netted me 5 mullet (thanks, Dick).
After about an hour of nothing, the tide started coming in and I started seeing more bait.
Still not seeing anything crashing the bait, but felt a thump on my bait and figured I was bitten off by a Blue.
I let it sit for another minute and didn't feel anything so I reeled in to check my bait. Surprise, there was 16" Flounder on the hook! Put him in the bucket and grabbed another mullet and threw back in the same hole and felt the same thump, 14"er. Did it one more time in the same hole for another 14"er. Unfortunately it was time to go, after fasting for 12 hours it was time to get my bloodwork done.

Cocoa Beach Snookin w/John
Out at o'dark thirty to hit the beach for some snook action on Labor Day!We found the bait running and the sun rising.
After netting some mullet, we both caught a few Ladyfish and John got a few Blues.
I hooked up first and landed a 34" snook, over slot so I released.
John hooked up next with what looked like a slot Snook, but he broke off after a couple minute fight.
Another day in Paradise!
