KARs Park solo

Got up way too early and caught the sunrise.

Paddled about 3 miles north before getting into fish.
First was a BIG Red that tore drag for about 10 seconds and pulled the hook.
Next was the only fish landed, my first NMZ snook!

Spooked many reds on the way back, but wind had picked up and they were hard to see.
Watched a ski boat with about 5 people pulling a wake boarder around the east side NMZ for 45 minutes. Called Air Force security and woke up the dispatcher, didn't sound like he was interested. Called FWC, they didn't have a boat in the water, but they atleast tried to catch them.

Also saw a gator nose to nose with a blue Heron. The gator was catching and eating mullet while the Heron was looking for scraps.

Indian River w/John

Went to the NMZ, but got turned away at the guard shack. Once again, the recording says it is open, but the guards say no.

Turned around and went to 528, but there were kayaks out of every open spot on both rivers. Launched at Mcfadden Park in Cocoa. It was nice out there.

John caught a few schoolie trout.
I caught a few dozen catfish, one big sailcat and one little puffer.

Hanger AF w/Bill

Slept through my alarm, launched from the causeway about 8:15am. We both caught trout early off the north side of the sandbar. About 10:30 the black drum started tailing, chased them for about an hour and took several shots. They finally ended up coming right at me and spooking when they got about 3'from my yak.

the wind was up, so we headed to the east shoreline. I picked up a small red and we called it a day.

528 Indian River w/Bill

Slow start, no fish until about 11am. Bill caught some trout, a catfish and a ladyfish. I caught an almost slot Red on the back side of the second island. Next trip will be to fish the islands, instead of the shoreline. No good pics to post.

Hanger AF w/Bill

Great weather continued today. Didn't see many fish, but managed one nice Red. Bill had a couple nice fish on, but couldn't close the deal. Check those hooks!
